What is it?

Lumecca is a very powerful intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment designed to improve various skin conditions including sun damage, rosacea, age spots, and other types of skin discoloration. Lumecca IPL offers 3 times more power and efficiency than traditional IPL treatments and uses light energy pulses to target specific pigments or blood vessels in the skin without affecting the surrounding tissue. Patients can expect outstanding results with minimal downtime from Lumecca IPL treatments.

What to expect

Each Lumecca IPL session lasts about 30 minutes, making it convenient to fit into your morning or afternoon schedule. A topical cooling gel is applied during the procedure to reduce discomfort.

Following the treatment, your skin may show slight redness or swelling, similar to a mild sunburn, but this usually resolves within a few hours to a day. In the days after, you might observe darkening or crusting of pigmented spots, which will eventually flake off, revealing clearer skin underneath. For best results, a series of treatments spaced several weeks or months apart is often recommended.
