Dr. Fradin grew up in Buffalo, NY and graduated magna cum laude from Brown University. He received his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and completed an internship in internal medicine at New York University. Dr. Fradin completed his residency in dermatology at the University of Michigan/Ann Arbor and has been in practice in Chapel Hill since 1990.
Dr. Fradin has written chapters for dermatology, travel medicine, and wilderness medicine textbooks and has also authored over 15 articles in medical and dermatology journals. Dr. Fradin has a special interest in the safety and efficacy of insect repellents. He has lectured nationally on these topics, and continues to publish in this field. His outside interests include tai chi, hiking, photography, and aspiring to be a pastry chef. Dr. Fradin and his family live in Chapel Hill.
